On the second day of the Asian and Oceania SAMBO Championships, a press conference was held. It was attended by FIAS Vice President, President of the Sambo Union of Asia and Oceania Alamjon Mullaev, President of the National Federation of Sports and Combat Sambo of Kazakhstan Aidos Akzhanov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Bekbulat Badzhanov, Secretary General of the National Federation of Sports and Combat Sambo of Kazakhstan Ernazar Beksultanov.
Alamjon Mullaev confirmed that this championship will remain not only in the history of sambo in Asia and Oceania. And the whole world.
– Today we have gathered such a grandiose competition. The championship is the first in this format. 600 athlets from 30 countries arrives the capital of Kazakhstan. This is a very big event. I would also like to note the fact that in this championship for the first time there are fights among the visually impaired and among veterans. This tournament would not have taken place if the government of the country, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the great work of which was done by the National Sambo Federation of Kazakhstan and its president Aidos Akzhanov, was done by this team. And the links of this we are gathered here. This competition will remain in the history not only of Asia or Oceania, but of the whole world. This tournament is also important because it is a qualifier for the World Games. The strongest sambists will qualify to the World Games 2023 in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, once again I express my gratitude to the National Sambo Federation of Kazakhstan headed by Aidos Akzhanov, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the country.
The head of the National Sambo Federation of Kazakhstan, Aidos Akzhanov, expressed confidence that the host athletes will perform in this competition with a large squad, youth, juniors, members of the national team will win many medals and take high places. The organizers, including the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bekbulat Baizhanov, expressed the hope that sambo would strengthen friendship between peoples and wish let strongest would win.
It was noted at the press conference that Kazakhstan will host not only the Asia-Oceania Championship, but also the World Championship among veterans. Alam Mullaev noted that women will compete in combat sambo for the first time in the history of the championship.
The organizers invited everyone to the championship and support the athletes.
